We the people of the United States,
in order to form a more perfect union,

the United States of America.

Copy & Paste A Whole Page

First lets try the command to select
all the text on this page.
Hold down CMD and hit A
You will see all the text on this page
has been "highlighted".

Repeating holding CMD and hitting A will
unselect this selected text. If you try this
please re-select all the text before you move on.

With all the text highlighted on this page.
Hold Down CMD and Hit C
that command will copy all the text
highlighted onto your MSNTV "clipboard"
(you can not see this clipboard).

You are ready to paste all the copied
text to an email or a web page,
using CMD and V to paste it.

Copy & Paste Specific Text

In this lesson we will select
specific text on a page,
then copy it and paste it.

Using the "find" option on your
MSNTV keyboard, bring up the "find"
input box and type in the word
"united" and hit the "enter" key.
You will see in our practice paragraph
the word "united" has been highlighted.

Now by holding down the CMD key and hitting G
you will be taken to the next "united"
word in the practice paragraph.

Now hold down CMD and hit B
and you will go back to the first
"united" word in the practice paragraph.
Leave this one highlighted.

With this word "united" highlighted
hold down the shift key
and use the arrow right key to also
highlight the word next to it "states".

Once this is done, hold down CMD and hit C
to copy it. Go to your email or web page
and hold down CMD and hit V to paste it.

Experiment with the "Shift + Arrow" keys.
Try holding the shift key down,
arrowing left, up or down to select
some text or whole sentences or paragraphs.

Cutting & Pasting Text

The above lessons for "copying" text
will apply for "cutting" (CMD + X) the text.
We can not practice that here though.
To cut text you must be in an area that
allows editing. Such a place would be
in your email or when editing a web page.

Copying A URL From The Webtv "GoTo" Box

Web Page And Image URLs

You can copy a URL from the Webtv "goto" box.
First bring up an image or web page to view it.
Then bring up the "goto" options box.
Now hit the "show current" button.

The URL for the web page or image
will be shown. Then hold down CMD and
hit A to select (highlight) the URL.

Now hold down CMD and hit C to copy the URL.
You will now have that URL on your
MSNTV "clipboard" to paste in your email or
signature box or web page.

You can try this for an image,
click HERE to view the image.
Then you can bring up your "goto" box,
select and copy the image's URL.
Then go to your email and paste it to
see if you got it.

Note: To see the image in your email
or web page you of course would need the
html code to go with this pasted image url.

Sound/Song URLs

You can also copy a URL to a sound/song
if you like. First click on the
sound/song and play it.

Bring up the "goto" options box,
then the hit "show last" button.

Since the playing of the sound
was the last thing you did, the URL to
that sound will be shown in the "goto" box.

Then hold down CMD and hit A to select
the URL. Now hold down CMD and hit C
to copy the URL. You will now have that
URL on your MSNTV "clipboard" to paste
in your email or signature box or web page.

You can try this for a midi song,
click HERE to hear the song.
Then you can bring up your "goto" box,
select and copy the song's URL.
Then go to your email and paste it
to see if you got it.

Note: To hear the sound in your email
or web page you of course would need the
html code to go with this pasted sound url.

Cut, Copy & Paste is very simple
with a bit of practice you will master
this option in no time at all...:+)
